5.75" x 7.75" color photograph of the young Dalai Lama, nicely autographed in blue ballpoint pen by His Holiness, The 14th Dalai Lama of Tibet. He signed "Dalai Lama, Tenzin Gyatso" and added the date below. It is rare to see signed photos from the Dalai Lama of this vintage, and he doesn't add "Tenzin Gyatso" anymore.

Sold with a typed letter dated Sept. 13, 1982 of "Office of the Dalai Lama" India stationary stating that they are enclosing a signed photograph (along with the original mailing envelope) and a second letter on "The Office of Tibet New York" letterhead.
Also sold with a third letter to the same recipient, also on "Office of the Dalai Lama" India stationary, dated Aug. 6, 1982 thanking him for a letter to the Dalai Lama.
