A real race-issued Yellow Leaders Jersey Jacket made for Lance Armstrong to wear in the 2003 Tour de France. Sold with an original (real) 2003 Tour de France Riders Number autographed in marker by Lance Armstrong.
This yellow jersey jacket was made to wear over Lance's yellow jersey for cold or inclement weather. It was made by Giordana for Nike, and was NEVER sold to the general public. These jackets would be issued by the US Postal Pro Cycling team to anyone that they felt might be leading the Tour de France.
2003 was one of the hottest summers on record in Europe, and the riders didn't wear long-sleeved jerseys. The only time that Lance wore one of these jackets in 2003 was while warming up for the final individual time-trail. He didn't wear it out on the course.
So... Lance didn't wear this jersey jacket, but it is still a significant piece of cycling history. Lance held onto his yellow jerseys, and gave them only to team members (who would NEVER sell one) and auctioned them through the Lance Armstrong Foundation to support the charity. These have sold for over $100,000. This is your chance to get the next best thing at a fraction of the price.
Lance pretty much refuses to sign yellow jerseys, so this jersey is sold with a matching riders number to frame with it. These riders numbers were worn on the back of the jersey during the tour to identify the riders. Lance wore rider number "1" in 2003, as he was the winner of the 2002 Tour de France. The signature on the Riders Number is sold with a second Certificate of Authenticity from independent third-party authenticator Global Authentication.
Sold with Certificate of Authenticity (Lifetime Guarantee) from The Autograph Source.
