An 8" x 10" photograph of New York Yankee Slugger Babe Ruth, taken during Yankees spring training in the early 1930's, signed and inscribed in fountain pen at the upper left, "To A Great Porter George Ross, From Babe Ruth, 5-28-48."
Signed just three months before the great one passed away, the bold fountain pen ink remains strong, although it has irregular adhesion to the glossy surface of the photo, and is lighter on the top half of Babe Ruth's signature, and George Ross's name. There is a minor tear at the center of the right side, which is well clear of both the autograph and the image's central focus.
Although the photo is personalized, this is a top tier example of a piece that should be on every sports memorabilia collector's wish list! (at a fraction of the price of a Ruth signed photo without the personalized sentiment).
Sold with Certificates of Authenticity from both The Autograph Source (Lifetime Guarantee) and independent third-party authenticator PSA/DNA.
