Tegata is a traditional Japanese form of memorabilia that is reserved for only the most supreme athletes in their chosen sport.

Michael Jordan is the first American athlete to have a Tegata piece produced of him.

The extremely rare keepsake is limited to just 23 (MJ’s uniform number).

Utilizing handmade Japanese Fuji paper, Jordan inked his left hand in black, and hand-stamped each piece with a slightly different authentic Inkan stamp, which corresponds perfectly with the traditional craft. Jordan helped design his stamps (more on this below).

The overall framed size is 30” wide by 40” high. The Japanese rice paper measures 12” by 12”. This paper is set in the center of the piece, is surrounded by a double-matted mosaic background of small action images of Jordan from throughout his 13-year tenure with the Bulls.

Jordan recently performed the Tegata process and helped in the actual hand-crafting of 23 uniquely authentic stamps for each keepsake. His unique, red Inkan stamp reflects his initials and uniform number. He then completed the autograph phase of the process by signing his name in silver across each hand-print.
