This photo is from the brothers first photo shoot for the Allman Brothers 1969 debut album “The Allman Brothers Band”. ——- The photographer stayed for “about a week” in Macon with the band, partying with the group. They approached any areas about the town that appeared photogenic, such as “fields, old houses, railroad tracks, [and] the cemetery.”   This image was taken on the railroad tracks near Otis Redding’s ranch in Macon, Georgia, May 5, 1969.  It didn’t make it on their first album, but appeared many years later on the cover of “The Allman Brothers Band – Gold”, which was released in 2005.
